General informationfor No Visa Required (NVR)

• - Any Bangladeshi Origin British/EU National with valid resident permit in UK who has a Bangladeshi Passport/ Bangladeshi national ID card (NID)/ Bangladeshi Birth certificate can apply for NVR.
• - Spouse and Children of a Bangladeshi origin British/EU National can also apply for NVR subject to providing sufficient documents.
• - The fee is 46 Pounds.
• - Delivery time for in-person application is 5-7 working days and for postal the time is 21 days.
• - In person applications are appointment only.
• - NVR is never an urgent service.

Documents Required for No Visa Required (NVR)

• Documents are required based on the following categories:
  • 1. NVR for Who has a Bangladeshi passport or a Birth Certificate:
    • Duly filled in online application form available at visa.gov.bd .
    • A Photocopy of Bangladeshi passport or a Bangladeshi Birth Certificate or a National ID card. You must bring the original copy during in person submission.
    • A passport size photograph attached with the filled in online application form (glued not stapled)
  • 2. NVR for Who’s Spouse has a Bangladeshi document.
    • Duly filled in online application form available at visa.gov.bd .
    • A Photocopy of Bangladeshi passport or a national ID Card (NID) or a Bangladeshi Birth Certificate of the spouse.
    • The marriage certificate.
    • A passport size photograph attached with the filled in online application form (glued not stapled)
    • The applicant and the Bangladeshi spouse must be present at the High Commission on the day of appointment for interview.

    Note:Husbands or Wife’s NVR will not qualify the spouse for a NVR. Husband or the wife must have a Bangladeshi Passport/NID/ Bangladeshi Birth Certificate.

  • 3. NVR for Who’s parent has a Bangladeshi document.

    Note: Parents NVR will not qualify the children for an NVR. Any parent must have a Bangladeshi Passport/NID/Bangladeshi Birth Certificate.

    • Duly filled in online application form available at visa.gov.bd .
    • A Photocopy of Bangladeshi passport or a National ID Card (NID) or a Bangladeshi Birth Certificate of the parent.
    • The Birth Certificate of the child where parents name is clearly mentioned.
    • A passport size photograph attached with the filled in online application form (glued not stapled)
• Online application guideline for No Visa Required (NVR)
  • Do not use MAC pc to fill up the form.
  • Please DO NOT USE any special characters while filling out the address filed (such as , ; ' : - _ etc.). 
  • Please skip payment option while filling up online application. 
  • Please skip photo upload.
  • Please select ‘Others’ in the organizations field and write ‘others’ or ‘none’ in the box which will appear at the right-hand side.
• No Visa Required (NVR) submission
  • NVR can be applied either of the following two ways:
    • Physical Presence at the High Commission with a prior appointment.
    • By using Postal Service
  • For APPOINTMENTS, please ensure the following steps:
    • Submission of the online Form on visa.gov.bd;
    • Take a print-out of the PDF version of the submitted application file.
    • Proceed to the next step to confirm booking of appointment online from https://bhclondon.org.uk/no-visa-appointment; and 
    • Arrive and avail service on the date of the appointment at the BHC London Office. Please bring all the documents as mentioned in the document requirement section.
  • POSTAL APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

    In case of NVR APPLICATION by POST, please follow the step by step guidelines as given below:

    Note: We suggest you post this with the Royal mail tracking service. And please keep this tracking reference number with you for future query.

    • A) Please fill-in the online form on visa.gov.bd;
    • B) Take a print of the filled-in Form
    • C) Enclose your original British/Irish Passport with the documents states in the document requirement section.
    • D) Go to a nearby post office (Royal Mail); 
    • E) Collect a postal order of £46.00 in favor of ''Bangladesh High Commission, London'' and enclose that postal with your application form;
    • F) Collect a self-addressed return postal envelop. The envelope should be Next Day Recorded Delivery prepaid envelope (up to two passport we require 100-gram prepaid envelope, up to five passport we require 500-gram prepaid envelope). Write your return address on it and,
    • G) Send the entire application by post to: Bangladesh High Commission, 28 Queen's Gate London SW7 5JA.
  • For Ireland:
    • A) 46 Pounds Bank Draft from a Bank in favor of Bangladesh High Commission, London as Passport Fee
    • B) Additional 10 Pound Bank Draft as postage fee.

    Postal Delivery: You will receive the issued NVR along with your passport after 30 business days from the date we receive your postal application.
