The steps to be followed for MRP are as follows:
- a. Properly fill in the online MRP application form.
- b. Booking online appointment
- c. Physical presence in the Passport & Visa Wing of the High Commission on due date and time of the appointment and submit MRP related documents in counter 1.
- d. Biometric enrollment of the applicant in the room number 4 of the Passport & Visa Wing of the High Commission.
- e. Carefully checking the Passport information and return it with signing.
- f. MRP processing and printing
- g. Delivery of passport.
In case of data correction in the name of self/parents/spouse, I need to do the following steps:
- a. Click the link: Data Correction and fill up the form manually. Please mention the information shown in the existing passport and the corrected information.
- b. Physical presence in the Passport & Visa Wing of Bangladesh High Commission, London.
- c Submit PSC/JSC/SSC examination certificate or Affidavit from 1st class magistrate of Bangladesh which shows the corrected name.
- d. Submit amended NID (National Identity Card) or amended Birth certificate (according to Education certificate/Affidavit) which also shows the corrected name.
- e. Submit one passport-size photograph and original MRP along with a photocopy (page 2-3) with the application.
- f. Application related to complete change of applicant's antecedent (i.e. Name of applicant/father's name/ mother's name) must not be received.

In case of full name change of permanent address, I need to do the following steps:

- b. Submit police verification certificate from Bangladesh.
In case of full name change of date of Birth, I need to do the following steps:

- b. Submit amended NID (national Identity card) or Amended Birth Certificate.
In case of full name change of marital status, I need to do the following steps:

- b. Submit marriage/divorce certificate as appropriate.
In case of full name change of profession, I need to do the following steps:

- b. Submit educational or profession certificate as appropriate.
In case of full name change of profession, I need to do the following steps:

- b. Submit approval letter from Ministry of Home affairs (from official to ordinary).
- c. NOC from competent authority (from ordinary to official).
Currently the MRP is valid for 5 years and it is not renewable like the hand-written passport. So MRP needs to be re-issued once the validity is about to expire or when someone has lost present MRP. In both cases the Information of the previous MRP must remain unchanged.
It is necessary to do the following steps in order to apply for MRP re-issue:
- a) Submit manually filled in MRP re-issue form with recent passport size photograph.
- b) Original MRP along with a photocopy (page 2-3)
- c) Physical presence of the applicant in the High Commission.
A person who lost MRP or whose MRP is retained in the Home Office or validity of the MRP is about to expire, can apply for a passport re-issue
There is no fixed period of time to apply for re-issue an MRP before expiring. It is advised to apply few months ago before expiring.
It is must to have a prior appointment to apply for MRP.
The application is received at the counter between 10.00 am – 1.00 pm (Monday to Thursday) and 10.00 am – 12.30 pm (Friday). The delivery time is 2.30 pm -4.00 pm.
With the commencement of MRP, handwritten passport could not be renewed rather a new MRP needs to be issued against it. As biometrics is required for MRP, the applicant must come to London to do so or need to avail consular surgery in Ireland.
You may send by Post reissue application, photocopy of existing MR, bank draft of MRP fee and separately postal charge to send the Passport back. Alternatively, you can avail the consular surgery facilities in Ireland.
For applicant applying in the UK, there is no need to attest the photos.

If an applicant is physically disabled and cannot come to High Commission, a letter mentioning disability of the applicant should be obtained from the NHS/Hospital. An extra photo (not stapled, not glued) is also required for photo scanning.
In case of getting a new Bangladesh Passport against a lost passport, I need to ensure the following steps:
- (a) The applicant needs to face an interview at the High Commission.
- (b) The applicant needs to submit the following documents:
- i. The applicant needs to face an interview at the High Commission.
- ii. Police certificate from local police station against the lost passport (if possible).
- iii. Photocopy of old passport (page 1-7).
- iv. Digital Bangladeshi Birth Certificate.
In case of getting a new Bangladesh Passport for the new born baby, I need to ensure the following steps:
- (a) Presence of the child at the High Commission.
- (b) The applicant needs to submit the following documents:
- i. Parents’ Bangladeshi original passports and marriage certificate with photocopy.
- ii. Child's detailed Birth Certificate (where parents’ names and details are shown).
- iii. An extra photo (not glued, not stapled) for photo scanning (below 6 years).
In case of getting a new Bangladesh Passport for the new born baby, I need to ensure the following steps:
- (a) The applicant needs to face an interview at the High Commission.
- (b) The applicant needs to submit the following documents:
- i. Parents’ Bangladeshi passports.
- ii. Applicant’s Birth Certificate (where parents’ names are included).
- iii. Applicant's UK Police Clearance Certificate (CRB/DBS check) duly attested by Foreign and Commonwealth office (FCO, UK.
- iv. Applicant’s British passport.
