Who can apply:
- - If you have previous Machine-readable passport which is expiring in next 12 to 6 months’ time you can apply for MRP Reissue.
- - If your Machine Readable passport is already expired.
How to apply:
- 1. Physical Presence at the High Commission with a prior appointment.
- 2. By using Postal Service.
Fee for MRP Reissue:
Regular fees for MRP Re-issue are £92.00 (non-refundable). Student fee £30.00 (For a full-time student, subject to providing student ID card or letter from educational institution. Fee non-refundable)
For in-person submission with Appointments:
- 1. Download the form from this https://bhclondon.org.uk/assets/theme/file/MRP_reissue.pdf and fill in the form.
- 2. Proceed to the next step to confirm booking of appointment online from https://bhclondon.org.uk/mrp-appointment
- 3. Arrive and avail service on the date of the appointment at the BHC London Office with the following documents:
- Filled in reissue form
- One copy of passport size photograph
- Original Previous passport, and a copy of your previous passport.
- Please print your appointment confirmation page to show at the counter.
Note: Mandatory Photo change will be required for the age group of 6-18 Years. In that case physical presence of the applicant will be required for Biometrics. Any person of other age group may also request photo change.
For postal service,
MRP reissue may be done over postal service. For postal service the instructions are as fullows:
- Download the form from https://bhclondon.org.uk/assets/theme/file/MRP_reissue.pdf and filling in the form.
- Enclose One copy of your passport size photo,
- Enclose Existing Previous passport with a photocopy of the two main pages.
- Go to a nearby post office (Royal Mail)
- collect a 92-pound postal order in favor of ''Bangladesh High Commission, London'' and enclose that postal order with your application form and other documents. The fee will be 30 pounds for a full-time student, subject to providing student ID card or letter from educational institution
- Get a self-addressed prepaid return postal envelop. The envelope should be Next Day Recorded Delivery prepaid envelope (up to two passport we require 100-gram prepaid envelope, up to five passport we require 500-gram prepaid envelope). Write your return address on it.
- Enclose all the documents and fee together.
- Send all the documents and return envelope by post to: Bangladesh High Commission, 28 Queen's Gate, South Kensington, London SW7 5JA.
For Ireland:
- The required fee must be sent by a Bank Draft from a Bank in favor of Bangladesh High Commission, London as Passport Fee.
- Get a self-addressed return envelope.
- Additional 10 Pound Bank Draft as return postal fee.
- And all other documents as mentioned above.
Note: Mandatory Photo change will be required for the age group of 6-18 Years. In that case physical presence of the applicant will be required for Biometrics. Any person of other age group may also request photo change. If you need to chance the photo in your MRP you are advised not to send your application over post.
PLEASE NOTE that due to high vulume of inbound applications, we will not be able to give you an update as to when we received your postal application and when we disbursed the New MRP through your return postal envelop. Hence, it is better to use the postal mails with tracking system of the Royal Mail. We shall not be able to respond to you regarding your MRP reissue status within the first 30 days you have sent your application.
Currently, the MPR is valid for 5 years.

Delivery of the Machine Readable Passport
- You will get a text message when the passport will be ready. Tentatively it will be 45 to 60 days. However, this time depends on the Dhaka immigration and passport office.
- You will also receive a text message when your passport will be ready.
- For in person application: You will have to bring your original Delivery Slip (White enrollment page, original previous passport) and money receipt on the day of your collections. Passport collection time is 2-5 PM any working day after you have received the text message.
- If you are unable to come to receive your MRP and wish to send a representative, you will have to give an authorization to your representative. Your nominated representative must show us his photo ID.
- For postal application: We shall send the passports to your address by your provided return envelope as soon as the passports are ready in Bangladesh High Commission, London.
