Note: Mandatory Photo change will be required for the age group of 6-18 Years. In that case physical presence of the applicant will be required for Biometrics. Any person of other age group may also request photo change.  If you need to chance the photo in your MRP you are advised not to send your application over post.

PLEASE NOTE that due to high vulume of inbound applications, we will not be able to give you an update as to when we received your postal application and when we disbursed the New MRP through your return postal envelop. Hence, it is better to use the postal mails with tracking system of the Royal Mail. We shall not be able to respond to you regarding your MRP reissue status within the first 30 days you have sent your application.

  • For making payment, please use postal order upon following the instructions below. 
  • POSTAL APPLICATION GUIDELINES: In case of MRP Re-Issue, the whole process is doable by postal service. All you need is to follow the step by step guidelines as given below: A) Please fill-in the online form or the PDF form; B) Take a print of the filled-in Form (you may also fill the Form in manually after downloading the PDF); C) Enclose one copy of your passport size photo and your existing passport (the original passport) ; D) Go to a nearby post office (Royal Mail) E) Collect a postal/pay order in favour of ''Bangladesh High Commission, London'' and enclose that postal/pay order with your application form; F) take a self-addressed return postal envelop and enclose that with the application; and, finally, G) Send the entire application by post to: Bangladesh High Commission, 28 Queen's Gate London SW7 5JA.
  • You will receive the re-issued New MRP after at least 60 days from the date we receive your postal application. PLEASE NOTE THAT BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE TIME OF THE POSTAL DELIVERY MAY EVEN BE LONGER, SINCE THE NEW MRP PASSPORT WILL COME TO LONDON MISSION FROM DIP (Department of Immigration and Passport), DHAKA. We will send the New MRP to your home address by the self-addressed return envelop given by you as soon as we receive it from Dhaka.
  • PLEASE NOTE that due to high volume of inbound applications, we will not be able to give you an update as to when we received your postal application and when we disbursed the New MRP through your return postal envelop. Hence, it is better to use the postal mails with tracking system of the Royal Mail.
  • Currently, the MPR is valid for 5 years and it is not renewable like the hand-written passport. As such, MRP should be re-issued once the validity is about to expire
  • Please note that a new MRP will be issued in case of MRP reissue.

How to Apply

Step-1: MRP Re-issue Application:

  • Manually filled in MRP Application Form (please click here to find the form).
  • No need to fill in online MRP Application Form.

Step-2: Booking Online Appointment:

  • Without prior appointment, no application will be accepted.
  • Please click here for MRP appointment and ignore any auto generated appointment that may appear on your application form.
  • Also take a print out of the appointment schedule required at the High Commission counter.

Step-3: Submission of MRP related documents:

  • The applicant should come to the High Commission in person along with required documents on the scheduled date and time specified in the online appointment.
  • Need to submit the required documents and pay fee at the counter.
  • An interview may be required prior to the enrolment if any anomaly/anomalies found in the supporting documents. The Passport and Visa wing reserves the right to request for any additional documents at any stage for necessary scrutiny.

Step-4: Biometric Enrolment:

The applicant should keep in mind that actual time for biometric may vary depending upon various factors. Normally you should plan for 1-2 hours to complete the biometric procedure.

  • Applicant’s finger prints, signature on the electronic pad and photograph will be taken at the bio-enrolment booth.
  • During your enrolment you will be provided with a proof copy of your passport information. Please check the accuracy of the information carefully since these will be reflected in your passport. The High Commission shall not be responsible for any such mistakes.
  • The original passport will be verified here and returned to the applicant along with a delivery slip.
  • The applicant should retain the delivery slip carefully without which MRP will not be delivered. If lost, a police report is mandatory to collect the MRP.

Step-5: MRP processing time and Delivery of passport:

MRP Processing Time

  • Normally an MRP is ready for delivery within 45-60 days from the date of enrolment. However, due to police verification and inaccuracy of the information provided by the applicant, it may take a longer time than it is expected.
  • An auto generated delivery date appears on the delivery slip. Please ignore this date of delivery.

How to Collect:

  • Once the passport is received by this High Commission from the DIP/Dhaka, a text message will be sent to applicant to collect the passport.
  • Upon receiving the text, the applicant should come to the High Commission in person in any working day between 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm (Monday-Friday)
  • Applicants are requested to come along with old passport, delivery slip and any other documents if specified by the enrolment official. MRP will be handed over together with the old passport (with necessary observation seal).
  • If applicant doesn’t come and send anybody to collect the Passport in favour of the applicant, it is necessary to send an authrisation of the applicant. Without authorisation with proper signature, no passport will not be delivered.

Documents Required:

  • Manually filled in MRP Re-issue Application Form.
  • The existing pasport itself (Original MRP) along with a photocopy (page 2-3).
  • Application related to complete changes of applicant's antecedent (i.e Name of applicant/ father/ mother) will not be received.
  • A photograph of the applicant is required to be atached with it.
  • Please NOTE that THESE ARE MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS and the applicants MUST comply to obtain the Reissue (renewal) of the MRP.
