President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed deep condolence at the demise of Vietnamese President Nam Tran Dai Quang. In separate condolence messages, they conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family and the people of Vietnam yesterday.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived at London on Friday en route to New York on a weeklong official visit to the United States to attend the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Nazmul Qaunine received the Premier at the airport. After making a nearly two-day stopover in London, the Premier has left London for New York this morning. The PM will return home on 01 October.

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan has said, an international bus terminal and an electricity supply sub-station will be built at Burimari Land Port. The Minister said this to the media in Lalmonirhat yesterday. ATM booths of different commercial banks would be set up at Burimari Land Port to ease banking transactions for businesspersons as well as incoming and outgoing passengers, he added.

 

Chief Election Commissioner K M Nurul Huda has said, use of Electronic Voting Machine in next general election is still dependent on the amendment of the Representation of the People Order. He said this while inaugurating a training programme on the use of EVM at the Election Training Institute in Dhaka yesterday.

He came up with the observations at a function in Dhaka yesterday. The cybercrime unit of police is alert about this, he added.
