Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will go to Tungipara today to pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreath at the shrine of the great leader as Sheikh Hasina has become the head of the government for the record fourth time.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her new Cabinet colleagues paid homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing a wreath at the National Memorial at Savar yesterday on the occasion of installation of her government for the third consecutive term. Earlier, the Prime Minister and the new Cabinet members also paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi in the capital yesterday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said, she presented a new Cabinet as her party wants to leave by creating a future generation. “We will always keep them under surveillance and we want to see their activities,” the Premier added. The Prime Minister made the comments when the members of the new Cabinet, the Awami League Central Working Committee and the AL Advisory Council greeted her at Ganabhaban yesterday on the occasion of installation of her government for the third consecutive term.

More world leaders and heads of international organizations have congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her reappointment as the Head of the Government for the third consecutive term. Myanmar President Win Myint, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Secretary Generals of BIMSTEC, SAARC and Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States in separate messages wished success of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh.

President Md. Abdul Hamid attended a milad and doa mahfil for Public Administration Minister and Awami League Presidium Member Syed Ashraful Islam at the Officers’ Club at Baily Road yesterday afternoon. The family of the deceased and the Public Administration Ministry organized the doa mahfil.

The 24th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF-2019) kicks off at Shere Bangla Nagar in the capital today. President Md. Abdul Hamid will inaugurate the trade fair which is being participated by a good number of local and foreign companies. President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages wishing a grand success of the fair.

Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud has urged the mainstream media to play their role in shaping the minds of particularly younger generations for positive and pro-active thoughts.The Minister made the urge while exchanging views with the media people as he assumed office yesterday. Earlier, Information Secretary Abdul Malek, Principal Information Officer Kamrun Nahar, Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Abul Kalam Azad, BTV’s Director General Harunur Rashid greeted the Minister on the first day of his office.

Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen has said, his ministry would focus on economic diplomacy for realizing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visions to elevate Bangladesh’s status as a higher middle income country by 2021 and achieve sustainable development goals by 2030. The Minister said this while talking to media on the first day of his office yesterday.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said, the government has decided to set up a 12-member panel to review the wage of garment workers to solve all the issues with new wage structure by this month. The Minister made the announcement after a meeting between garment factory owners and labour leaders at the Department of Labour in Dhaka yesterday.
