No Visa Required (NVR)

Travel to Bangladesh:
Please note that according to the latest instructions of the Government of Bangladesh, all are required to carry a Covid-19 negative test report to enter Bangladesh. This is a mandatory requirement until further order.

Bangladesh origin foreign nationals (except SAARC countries) are eligible to obtain NVR in their foreign passports to visit Bangladesh. Their spouse and children are also eligible for this endorsement, which allows the holder multiple entries into Bangladesh with unlimited duration of stay within the validity of the passport. Citizens other then the UK/EU must submit the proof of residence in the UK for the endorsement. However, the authority reserves the right to reject any application at any time without ascertaining any reason.

MOST URGENT: KNOW BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR NVR

NVR can be issued either of the following two ways:

  • • Physical Presence at the High Commission with a prior appointment.
  • • By using Postal Service.

Fees for NVR is £46.00 (non-refundable).
Personal cheque or telephone payments are not accepted.

  • For APPOINTMENTS, please ensure the following steps: (A) Submission of the online Form on www.visa.gov.bd; (B) Take a print-out of the PDF version of the submitted application file; (C) Proceed to the next step to confirm booking of appointment online from here; and (4) Arrive and avail service on the date of the appointment at the BHC London Office.

POSTAL APPLICATION GUIDELINES: In case of NVR APPLICATION by POST, please follow the step by step guidelines as given below:

  • A) Please fill-in the online form on www.visa.gov.bd;
  • B) Take a print of the filled-in Form (you may also fill the Form in manually after downloading the PDF);
  • C) Enclose your original British/Irish Passportwith the following documents
    • • one copy of your passport size photo
    • • one copy of your existing Bangladesh passport's photocopy (the main two pages containing key-information) and/or
    • • the photocopy of the page with the NVR seal on your British Passport;
  • D) Go to a nearby post office (Royal Mail);
  • E) Collect a postalorder of £46.00 in favour of ''Bangladesh High Commission, London'' and enclose that postal with your application form;
  • F) Collect a self-addressed return postal envelop, put sufficient postage on it and enclose that with the application; and,
  • G) Send the entire application by post to: Bangladesh High Commission, 28 Queen's Gate London SW7 5JA.

For Ireland:

A) 46 Pounds Bank Draft from AIB Bank in favor of Bangladesh High Commission, London as Passport Fee

B) Additional 10 Pound Bank Draft as postage fee.

 

You will receive the issued NVR along with your passport after 21 business days from the date we receive your postal application. PLEASE NOTE THAT BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE TIME OF THE POSTAL DELIVERY MAY EVEN BE LONGER. ALSO, PLEASE NOTE that due to high volume of inbound applications, we will not be able to give you an update as to when we received your postal application and when we disbursed your return mail along with the NVR. Hence, it is better to use the postal mails with tracking system of the Royal Mail.

Applicants must submit their NVR applications with prior appointments only. In case the applicant is unable to submit his/her application in person, an authorized nominee can submit the NVR application on the applicant’s behalf. Incomplete application form or application with incorrect information or insufficient supporting papers may be rejected without citing any reason thereof. Applicant may be called for an interview if it is felt necessary by the visa issuing officer. The NVR Fee is Non-refundable even if the NVR is refused. We are aware that some technical issues may occur during the online application filling up. To avoid such complicaiton, please FOLLOW the instructions below:  

URGENT INSTRUCTIONS on NVR: PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU APPLY

1. Please DO NOT US MAC PC. Kindly use Windows to fill up the online form. 

2. The Online Application Form may not be available for all browsers. If you are unable to access the form online from your current browser, please try from another browser such as Chrome or Explorer. 

3. You may face problems while logging in the website if you are using a version of Windows Internet Explorer earlier than 9.0 or a version of Mozila Firefox earlier than 3.5. 

4. Please DO NOT USE any special characters (such as , ; ' : - _ etc.). 

5. Please skip payment option while filling up online application.

9. NVR by Post:

You may send your NVR application by post along with passport and all other required documents mentioned in your respective NVR category and a self address written prepaid envelope. In order to obtain NVR by post, you must pay the NVR fee by postal order or bank draft in favour of Bangladesh High Commission, London and allow at least 21 working days after receiving the post. If you are from Ireland, then please provide additional £10.00 postal order as a postal charges.
