President Md. Abdul Hamid has urged all concerned to explore and utilize properly the country's development potential to build a developed nation. The President made the urge while addressing a public meeting at Charfassion in Bhola yesterday. The President said, the possibility of tourism in the island is bright. He put emphasis on increasing tourists safety and facilities to ensure the development of tourism industry.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has praised the role of the BEPZA in the successful operation of the country's Export Processing Zones. The PM hoped, the BEPZA would also show its efficiency in effective running of the newly designed Special Economic Zones across the country. The Prime Minister came up with the appreciation as she was inaugurating 'BEPZA International Investors Summit 2018' at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka yesterday. At the function, the PM formally launched Mirersarai Special Economic Zone through a video-conference.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thanked the people for their wholehearted support to run the country, saying that she always tries to move taking all with her. The PM was speaking at her question-answer session in Jatiya Sangsad yesterday. She described the achievements of the country as the fruits of the united efforts of all.

The Jatiya Sangsad yesterday passed the ‘Bangladesh Ship Recycling Bill, 2018’ with a provision to update the overall development of the ship recycling sector. Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu moved the bill in the House. Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mostafa Jabbar informed the House that Teletalk has a plan to launch 4G service at all divisional cities in May.

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda has said, the presidential election schedule is being announced today. He said this while briefing newsmen after a meeting with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at Jatiya Sangsad yesterday.

The government will import 1 lac metric tons of rice through local traders. The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase yesterday gave the approval. Finance Minister A M A Muhith chaired the meeting.

European Union will continue its supports to Bangladesh for increasing technical skills in the industrial sector under the ‘Regional Integration' programme. The EU assurance came at a meeting between Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink at the Ministry yesterday. During the meeting, they discussed various bilateral issues. UN Resident Coordinator to Bangladesh Mia Seppo also met Industries Minister yesterday.

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has directed officials concerned to properly implement the ongoing projects within due time. The Minister gave the directive as he was presiding over ADP meeting in the Ministry of Information yesterday. The meeting reviewed the progress of development projects under the ministry. State Minister for Information Tarana Halim also attended the meeting.

The UNESCO has sent certificates to Bangladesh endorsing the inscription of the historic 7 th March Speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The UN organigasion sent the certificates to the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka through Bangladesh Ambassador to France Kazi Imtiaz Hossain.
