Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the G7 leaders to take definite actions to pursue Myanmar to implement the bilateral agreements with Bangladesh for safe and sustainable return of the forcibly displaced Rohingyas. The Bangladesh PM made the urge while addressing the Outreach Meeting of the G7 Summit in Quebec yesterday. The PM, in her address, placed the fourpoint action seeking more support from the international community, especially from the G-7 countries to resolve the ongoing Rohinhya crisis.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her intervention at the Outreach Meeting of the G7 Summit focused on climate changes as well as ocean resources and blue economy. She called for development of partnership of G7 countries with vulnerable countries for sustainable management and protection of marine and coastal ecosystem. The PM called upon all countries to engage on oceans based on principles of mutual trust, respect and mutual sharing of benefits.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Prime Minister arrived in Quebec City on Friday on a four-day visit to attend the Outreach Meeting of the G7 Summit. She joined a dinner hosted by Governor General of Canada for G7 guests yesterday. The PM will hold a meeting with her Canadian Counterpart Justine Trudeau today morning local time.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has said, the recent national budget will benefit everyone, from the rich to the poor. The Minister said this while speaking at a ceremony in Bhola yesterday. The proposed budget will contribute to increase investment and export, improve communications system, healthcare and power sector, he added.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said, vigilance teams are working to ensure smooth journey for the home-bound people during the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation. The Minister said this to the media after a view-exchange meeting with the police, transport owners and leaders at BRTA office in Dhaka yesterday.

The government has a plan to install 20 more power plants having capacity to generate 22,052MW of electricity aimed at raising the total generation capacity to 24,000MW by 2021 from the existing 16,046MW. State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said this to the media yesterday.
