President Md. Abdul Hamid has urged scout leaders, guardians, teachers and public representatives to come forward to build efficient future leadership through scout movement. The President made the call while addressing the 47th Annual General Meeting of the National Council of Bangladesh Scouts at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Dhaka yesterday. The President, in his address, emphasised on intensifying the institution-based scouting activities at all vicinities and colonies to make the new generation ideal and worthy citizens.
President Md. Abdul Hamid exchanged views with the senior journalists and editors of different print and electronic media at Bangabhaban yesterday. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Information Secretary Abdul Malek and Principal Information Officer Kamrun Nahar also attended the function.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said, Bangladesh Navy will be made much stronger if Awami League is voted to power again. The Prime Minister said this while addressing a function arranged in the capital marking the commissioning of the naval base BNS Sheikh Mujib, the opening of 22 multi-storied buildings and laying the foundation stone of a BN Township yesterday.
Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Corporation Sigrid A. M. Kaag has said, they are keen to do more business in Bangladesh and also wants to work in the industrial sector. Mrs Kaag expressed the eagerness as she paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban yesterday. While exchanging views, the Premier noted that her government is setting up 100 economic zones and providing lands for the investors.
A delegation of Sammilito Jatiya Jote led by Jatiya Party Chairman H M Ershad held dialogue with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban last evening and discussed on holding the next general election in a fair and credible manner. The Left Democratic Alliance, a combination of eight left-leaning political parties, will hold dialogue with Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina this evening.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said, Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will disclose the outcome of dialogues with political parties by holding a press conference to be held on 08 or 09 November. The Minister said this to the media at the ministry yesterday.

A weeklong ‘Income Tax Fair’ will begin in Dhaka and other divisional headquarters across the country on 13 November aiming to help the taxpayers in filling-up returns and facilitate other tax-related works. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend a function in the capital to be arranged on 12 November to honour the best taxpayers.
The government has formed a 15-member trustee board headed by former Health Advisor Prof Dr Syed Mudasseer Ali for the smooth running of 13,861 community clinics across the country. The community clinics, a brainchild of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, are now providing healthcare services to the rural people across the country. The government has also plan to set up 1,900 more community clinics in the remotest areas of the country to bring all the rural people under health coverage.
