A ‘Shukrana Mahfil’ (thanksgiving rally) is being held this morning at the Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital hailing the government for giving the Dawra-e-Hadith (Taqmil) of Qawmi Madrasas the status of master’s degree. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the Mahfil as the chief guest.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders- Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, Capt. M Mansur Ali and A H M Quamruzzaman marking the Jail Killing Day. In memory of the leaders, the Premier placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in Dhaka yesterday.

As the election schedule would be announced soon, it would not be possible to continue dialogue for long. The Minister said this while talking to the media yesterday after placing wreath at the portraits of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders at the old Dhaka Central Jail at Nazim Uddin Road.

The Minister said this while speaking at a thanksgiving function to the PM as the government recognized Dawra degree of Qawmi madrasa as equivalent to master’s degree at Bharatpur Madiatul Uloom Islamia Madrasa in Pabna yesterday.
Railways Minister Mujibul Haque has said, all divisional and district towns would be brought under rail network if the Awami League comes to power again. The Minister said this while inaugurating a new passenger train on the Chattogram-Dohajari rail route at Patiya rail station in Chattogram yesterday. The first bullet train would be introduced on Dhaka-Chattogram route, he added.
