Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally open 'Sheikh Hasina Dharla Bridge', the second bridge on the river in Kurigram district, today through video conference from Ganabhaban.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has offered Fateha at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara yesterday. The PM offered munajat seeking eternal peace of departed souls of the Father of the Nation, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 massacre.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has hosted an iftar party for her family members and relatives at her official Ganabhaban residence. Premier’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana was also present on the occasion.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has sought support of the international community for voluntary, safe, peaceful and sustainable repatriation of the Rohingyas to their homeland in Myanmar. The Speaker sought the support while addressing an international conference on the Rohingyas organized by France-Bangladesh Friendship Group in Paris on Friday.

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq called on UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein in Geneva on Friday. During the call on, they discussied ways and means to further ensure promotion and protection of human rights in Bangladesh and beyond. In the meeting, the High Commissioner stated that Bangladesh’s ongoing generosity towards displaced Rohingyas is indeed exemplary to many other countries. He further appreciated Bangladesh’s proactive and responsive engagement with the UN Human Rights mechanism.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said, a magistrate will investigate the recent killing of former president of Teknaf Upazila Juba League and councilor Ekramul Haque. The Minister said this to the media at his official residence at Dhanmondi in Dhaka yesterday.

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday at a function in Dhaka released a book 'Footballer Golpo, Footballarder Golpo' by Sports Journalist Masud Alam. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister recalled that during the liberation war the national football team toured India and popularized the cause of the war.
