Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted a tea party at Ganabhaban yesterday for the leaders of political alliances and organisations who joined the Prime Minister’s dialogue before the last general election. The Premier went round different tables set for the guests, talked to them and enquired about their well-being. The Prime Minister invited leaders of 54 political parties to her tea party.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Kachpur Second Bridge at any time of March this year as about cent percent of the construction work has already been completed. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader informed this while talking to journalists after inspecting the progress of construction of the Bridge at Sonargaon of Narayanganj yesterday.

The SSC and equivalent examinations-2019 under ten education boards began yesterday with holding Bangla first paper test peacefully on the first day. A total of 21,35,333 students from 28,682 educational institutions are appearing in the examinations. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni visited an exam centre at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Government Secondary School at Ashkona in Dhaka yesterday. The Minister talking to the media on the occasion said, the government will take stern action against any evil attempt to leak question papers and forgery in the SSC Examinations.

Liberation War affairs Minister Mozammel Haque has called for a vigorous campaign to shape young minds with cultural values and spirituality to develop the posterity with humane qualities. The Minister made the call while addressing the concluding session of a workshop on calligraphy in Dhaka yesterday.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said, the new government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to do everything possible to expand businesses and attract foreign investment. The Minister said this while addressing a function organized on the occasion of laying foundation stone for unit-2 of Salam Steel Concast Re-Rolling Mills Ltd at Officers’ Club in Dhaka yesterday.

Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud has said, the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has done a lot for the well-being of the expatriates. The government is taking various initiatives to honour the expatriates who are sending more remittance. The Minister said this at a reception at Zilla Parishad auditorium in Chattogram yesterday.

The Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed has said, all illegal structures on the Karnaphuli would be demolished to save the river from the land grabbers. The Minister while visited the sites at the Sadarghat area in Chattogram yesterday also said, the illegal occupants will be evicted, no matter how mighty and powerful they may be.

The European Union is keen to pursue and enhance engagement with the new government of Bangladesh to help the country speed up its impressive economic growth. EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink expressed the eagerness while addressing a seminar on BangladeshEuropean Union Relations at a hotel in Dhaka yesterday. The EU Envoy said, Bangladesh has shown a very impressive economic performance over the last one decade and the country needs to sustain and accelerate the growth in the coming days.

Bangladesh is committed to promoting inalienable right of people across the globe to their mother languages as well as the importance of linguistic and cultural diversities. Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Ambassador Masud Bin Momen said this at a High-Level plenary meeting of ‘the General Assembly for global launch of the International Year of Indigenous Languages’ in New York on Friday.
