Saudi King and Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has highly appreciated Bangladesh’s tremendous development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and stressed the need for continuity of the Sheikh Hasina's government. The appreciation came as the Bangladesh Premier called on the Saudi King at the Royal Palace in Riyadh yesterday. The Saudi King said, if the continuity of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is maintained, the relations between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh would further be improved and development would be achieved on all sides.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited Saudi entrepreneurs to come to Bangladesh with business and technology for mutual benefits. The Premier made the invitation as she was holding a meeting with the leaders of the Council of Saudi Chamber and the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce at King Saud Guest Palace in Riyadh yesterday. The Bangladesh Premier while exchanging views assured the Saudi investors of full support and cooperation from her government.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz at the Royal Palace in Arga in Riyadh last evening. During the meeting, the Premier and the Crown Prince discussed issues related to bilateral interests.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said, Bangladesh has started its journey towards the highway of development and none will be able to stop this pace. The Premier said this while addressing a function marking the inauguration of the newly-constructed Chancery Complex of Bangladesh Consulate at the Diplomatic Quarters in Riyadh yesterday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered ziarat of the Rawza Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) at Masjid Al-Nabawi in Madinah last night. The Prime Minister offered Esha prayers at the mosque and sought divine blessings for the people of Bangladesh as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity of the entire Muslim Ummah. The Prime Minister will depart Madinah for Jeddah this morning and lay the foundation stone of the Chancery Building of Bangladesh Consulate General there at noon. Later, the Premier will perform holy Umrah in Makkah after Esha prayers tonight. The Premier will leave Jeddah for home tomorrow.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has said, the farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the reason behind attaining massive developments in every sector of the country. The Speaker said this while addressing a reception organised by Awami League in Geneva yesterday.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim has said, the election will be held in due time according to the constitution. The Minister said this while talking to media at the party president’s political office in Dhanmondi yesterday.

Thailand's Minister for the Prime Minister's Office Hirunya Suchinai has commended Bangladesh for a decade of sustained growth and prosperity with a spectacular 7.86 per cent economic growth this year. The Thai Minister made the remarks while inaugurating the day-long Bangladesh Development Fair 2018 organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Bangkok yesterday.

Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has said, Bangladesh is a role model in showing the world that even a developing country could roll out so many trend-setting climate initiatives with courage and farsightedness. The former UN Secretary-General said this while presiding over the launching of Global Commission on Adaptation in The Hague on Tuesday.
