Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to formally inaugurate the 'Gangachara Sheikh Hasina Bridge' constructed on the Teesta at the juncture of Rangpur and Lalmonirhat through video conferencing from Ganabhaban today. From the same function, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate 'Sheikh Hasina Titas Bridge' built over the Titas River joining the Cumilla and Brahmanbaria districts.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has unveiled a government plan to establish a technical school and college in every Upazila to create skilled workforces in the country. The PM said this while inaugurating the Diploma Engineers’ Convention in Dhaka yesterday. The Ministry of Education has been working to set up 27 polytechnic institutes including four for women, she added.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her optimism that the people of Bangladesh would once again elect Awami League in the forthcoming polls to keep up the ongoing development spree across the country. The PM expressed the vow while speaking at the meeting of the National Election Conducting Committee of Bangladesh Awami League at Gonobhaban yesterday.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the 'Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute' on 20 October. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said this to the media yesterday. Earlier on 06 April 2016, the PM inaugurated the construction work of the hospital involving Taka 9220 million in the Chankharpul area in Dhaka.

 

World Ozone Day 2018 is being observed in Bangladesh as elsewhere in the world today. In separate messages on the eve of the day, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have urged all concerned to create awareness for protecting the ozone layer to save the environment.

 

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has said, the government led by Sheikh Hasina has brought health services to the doorsteps of the people. The Speaker said this while visiting Hilalpur Community Clinic at Bahubal Upazila in Habiganj yesterday.

 

Finance Minister A M A Muhith has said, the government is providing a special focus on education since it is the main tool to develop the country. The Minister said this while addressing a function organised for distributing scholarships among the higher secondary level students by Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka yesterday.

 

Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the website of Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee of Bangladesh Awami League at a function in the capital’s Institution of Engineers yesterday. The sub-committee inaugurated the website www.stsc.albd/org aiming to project the development works implemented by the government led by Awami League and to prevent rumours in different social media.
