Birth Registration Certificate:

A Birth Registration Certificate is mandatory to apply for a Bangladeshi E-Passport and Bangladeshi National ID Card. Bangladesh High Commission London receives Birth registration application for the following group of applicants:

• 1. Applicants who have a Bangladeshi Passport.
• 2. Applicants who are new-born in the UK/Ireland, but their parents are Bangladeshi with required proof. In that case Parents Bangladeshi Passport/ Bangladeshi National ID Card and applicants UK Birth Certificate with parent’s name will be required.
• 3. Applicants of any age born in the UK, but their parents are Bangladeshi with required proof. In that case Parents Bangladeshi Passport/ Bangladeshi National ID Card and applicants UK Birth Certificate with parent’s name will be required.

In order to process Birth Registration Certificate from this High Commission, the following steps need to be followed:

• A) Fee (non-refundable) : £4.00.
• B) Printed copy of the online application form (available at https://bdris.gov.bd/br/application)
• C) Original Bangladeshi passport along with a photocopy thereof (page 1-5).
• D) A recent passport size photograph.
• E) While fillig-up the online application form, PLEASE PUT THE PERMANENT ADDRESS IN BANGLADESH (Not foreign parmennt address).
• F) As for a child -
  • (i) his/her detailed Birth Certificate issued by the local authorities of the country of origin (where parents name and details are included); and
  • (ii) Original of the Bangladesh passports of both parents along with photocopy. However, if one of the parents only possess Bangladesh passport, in that case, such one parents Bangladesh passport will be sufficient.
  • (iii) Copy of the parents' Bangladeshi birth certificate
• G) Receiving of application: The application is received at the counter between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (Monday-Friday) and from 11:00 am -12:30 pm (Friday).
• H) The processing time for Birth Certificate is 5-7 Working days
• I) Delivery time: 2:30pm-4:00 pm (Monday–Friday)

If someone already have a 17 Digit Birth Registration Certificate, they does not need to apply for a Birth Registration Certificate for E-Passport. Any person can verify his 17 Digit Birth Registration Certificate from this link: https://everify.bdris.gov.bd/.
